St. Paul Travelers To Reacquire Citigroup's Umbrella

Law360, New York (February 13, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Citigroup Inc. and the St. Paul Travelers Companies Inc. will shorten their names and change their logos in a bid to bolster their brands.

Under a deal revealed Tuesday, Citigroup will sell its red umbrella trademark to St. Paul Travelers. Citigroup will also start doing business under the name “Citi.” After the sale of the trademark closes, St. Paul Travelers will change its name to “the Travelers Companies Inc.” and begin trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “TRV.”
