EPA Cautions Consumers On Bedbug Remedies

Law360, New York (August 10, 2010, 4:32 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency issued an alert Tuesday urging consumers to exercise caution when selecting pesticides to combat bedbug infestations.

The agency put out the statement to warn consumers that there had been an increase in companies that offer to control bedbugs with unrealistic promises of effectiveness or low costs.

Furthermore, because bedbugs are so difficult to rout, companies or individuals sometimes turn to using pesticides that are not intended for indoor residential applications or have used greater amounts of pesticides indoors than the chemicals'...
