Examiner Gets Subpoena Power In WaMu Probe

Law360, New York (August 10, 2010, 6:51 PM EDT) -- An examiner was authorized Tuesday to issue subpoenas as part of his investigation into the contested settlement between bankrupt Washington Mutual Inc., JPMorgan Chase & Co. and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.

Judge Mary F. Walrath of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware ruled that the examiner, McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP partner Joshua R. Hochberg, could issue subpoenas compelling the production of documents and the oral examination of persons and entities.
