Ikaria Recalls Inomax DS Drug Delivery Systems

Law360, New York (August 11, 2010, 1:38 PM EDT) -- Biotherapeutics company Ikaria Inc. is recalling its Inomax DS drug delivery systems, which administer nitric oxide for inhalation to infants, because of potential problems with the pressure switches that track when the drug supply needs to be replaced.

Clinton, N.J.-based Ikaria said Monday that a voluntary recall was being conducted with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, after the company identified the potential failure of the pressure switches as part of its quality monitoring and review process.
