Conceptus Falsely Marked Sterilization Kit, Rival Says

Law360, New York (August 11, 2010, 12:21 PM EDT) -- Medical device maker Hologic Inc. has accused rival Conceptus Inc. of falsely marking its Essure female sterilization system with two patents that do not actually cover the product, misleading consumers in the process.

Joshua M. Dalton of Bingham McCutchen LLP lodged the complaint Tuesday on behalf of Hologic in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, seeking around $150 million in statutory damages from Conceptus.
