US Agrees To Slash Lutavit Tariffs In BASF Cases

Law360, New York (August 11, 2010, 3:58 PM EDT) -- The government has given in to BASF Corp. by agreeing to lower tariffs on the German industrial products giant's Lutavit A 500 S fortified animal feed from 6.4 percent to 1.4 percent in seven related actions dating back more than five years.

According to stipulated judgments filed Monday in the U.S. Court of International Trade, U.S. Customs and Border Protection erroneously classified the products as animal feed containing milk or milk derivatives when they should have been classified as other animal feed.
