Generic Biologics Bill Reintroduced

Law360 (February 15, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A bipartisan group of legislators reintroduced a bill Wednesday that would provide a way for generic versions of biologic drugs to receive regulatory approval and be marketed to consumers.

The bill, which is identical to one proposed last year, would give the U.S. Food and Drug Administration the discretion to decide when it is scientifically appropriate to approve a generic of a biologic or biotech drug.
