11th Circ. Upholds Ex-Bankest Execs' Fraud Convictions

Law360, New York (August 13, 2010, 6:50 PM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has upheld the money laundering and fraud convictions of three former E.S. Bankest LLC executives for their roles in a scheme that cost former partner company Banco Espirito Santo $164 million in losses.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit ruled Thursday that the convictions of Eduardo Orlansky, his brother Hector Orlansky and Ariadna Puerto should stand, saying the trial judge “should be commended for his superb handling of this case.”
