Taiwan Lawmakers Pass China Trade Deal

Law360, New York (August 18, 2010, 5:42 PM EDT) -- Taiwanese lawmakers have signed off on the country's landmark trade agreement with mainland China, paving the way for greater economic cooperation between the two countries.

Taiwan's Parliament passed the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement, which will lift tariffs on many goods shipped from Taiwan to mainland China, Tuesday, making it easier for Taiwan to establish trade relations with other countries.
