Claims Trimmed In Case Over Defective Electric Meters

Law360, New York (August 23, 2010, 3:34 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has dismissed some claims from Cannon Technologies Inc.'s lawsuit claiming Sensus Metering Systems Inc. breached a contract by providing defective electrical meters, as well as from Sensus' complaint against the company that supplied the part that allegedly caused the meters to fail.

Judge Richard H. Kyle of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota tossed claims for breach of express warranty and for violation of Minnesota’s Deceptive Trade Practices Act from both complaints, but otherwise denied the motions for summary judgment...
