Squire Sanders Eyes Merger With Hammonds

Law360, New York (August 25, 2010, 4:03 PM EDT) -- Trans-Atlantic mergers continue to tempt law firms, with Squire Sanders & Dempsey LLP looking to join forces with Hammonds LLP and create a globe-circling powerhouse.

Squire Sanders and Hammonds announced Wednesday that they are “evaluating the possibility of a merger,” noting that preliminary discussions have highlighted the firms’ cultural and operational compatibilities.

If the two firms become one, the combined platform would appeal to multinational companies eager to work with a single firm efficiently sharing their sweep, according to the press release.
