Sanofi Fails To Nix Approval For Generic Lovenox

Law360, New York (August 26, 2010, 3:35 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has shot down a request by Sanofi-Aventis U.S. LLC for a preliminary injunction forcing the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to withdraw its approval for Sandoz Inc.'s generic version of anti-coagulant Lovenox.

Judge Emmet G. Sullivan of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia issued a memorandum opinion and order Wednesday that denied Sanofi's motion for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction requiring the withdrawal, finding that the company's current argument against the FDA was unlikely to succeed on merits....
