Groups Seek Senate Scrutiny Of Ethanol Increase In Gas

Law360, New York (August 26, 2010, 1:04 PM EDT) -- More than three dozen industry and environmental groups have called on the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works to hold a hearing to scrutinize a pending U.S. Environmental Protection Agency decision on whether to increase the allowable amount of ethanol in gasoline.

The EPA has not released enough information or conducted necessary research to grant a Clean Air Act waiver that will bump the maximum ethanol level in gasoline from 10 percent to 15 percent, the groups said in a letter Wednesday.
