Fed. Circ. Nixes Appeal In Vaccine-Autism Link Case

Law360, New York (August 27, 2010, 7:35 PM EDT) -- A federal appeals court on Friday affirmed a special master's ruling against parents claiming the measles-mumps-rubella vaccine caused their daughter's autism, part of a test case in the largest omnibus proceeding in the history of the Vaccine Act.

The special master in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims used the correct standard to determine the thimerosal-containing vaccine didn't cause the girl's autism or other health problems, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit affirmed.
