Judge Trims Dairy Farmer Antitrust Claims

Law360, New York (August 30, 2010, 6:48 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has chipped away at a proposed class action by a group of dairy farmers who have accused Dairy Farmers of America Inc. and Dean Foods Co. of monopolizing distribution of fluid milk in the Northeast, throwing out the plaintiffs' price-fixing claims.

In a ruling Monday, Judge Christina Reiss of the U.S. District Court for the District of Vermont dismissed without prejudice all claims alleging a price-fixing conspiracy between two of the defendants in the case, DFA and its affiliate, Dairy Marketing Services LLC....
