Prempro MDL Judge Nixes Plaintiffs' Expert Testimony

Law360, New York (August 31, 2010, 6:34 PM EDT) -- The federal judge overseeing the Prempro multidistrict litigation has barred the testimony of two scientists who claimed that estrogen-only hormone replacement therapy can cause cancer, a ruling Pfizer Inc. says could threaten hundreds of suits involving EHRT drug Premarin.

Judge William R. Wilson of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas on Monday deemed testimony by two of the plaintiffs' experts regarding Premarin not sufficiently reliable or relevant.
