In-House Counsel See Dip In Product Liability Spending

Law360, New York (September 3, 2010, 12:35 PM EDT) -- Corporate counsel estimate that spending on product liability litigation will decrease 1.1 percent in 2011, as an increasingly crowded and competitive market for legal services allows companies to shop around for the best price, according to a new report.

Spending on product liability litigation will still account for 11.8 percent, or $2.5 billion, of all corporate litigation spending, but the amount pales when compared to projected spending on other litigation, according to the report, Litigation Outlook 2011, produced by BTI Consulting Group Inc.
