SEC Close To Finalizing Deregulation Proposal

Law360, New York (February 23, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission proposal to ease deregulation from U.S. exchanges for foreign issuers has been well received, and the SEC may soon finalize the rule change, according to a top SEC official.

SEC corporation finance division director John White told a Dallas law conference that the agency is currently reviewing comments on the changes to the current deregistration rules, according to Dow Jones.

The Commission hopes to make a recommendation on the proposal in the near future, he said.
