Associate Rates Rise More Than Partner Rates: Report

Law360, New York (September 8, 2010, 6:18 PM EDT) -- Law firms have raised the rates of their associates over the

last few years at a higher percentage than those of their paralegals

or partners, according to a new report on legal billing rates.

The “Real Rate Report,” released Tuesday by The Corporate Executive Board Co. and CT TyMetrix, said associate rates increased nationally 16.6 percent between 2007 and 2009, compared with an 8.6 percent bump for partners and a 9.2 percent hike for paralegals.
