Canada To Seek Input On Merger Enforcement Guide

Law360, New York (September 8, 2010, 4:10 PM EDT) -- Canada's Competition Bureau is planning to hold a series of talks to explore possible revisions to the country's merger enforcement guidelines as it considers bringing its antitrust policies more in line with those of the United States.

The bureau said Tuesday that it wants to assess whether the guidelines, which were issued in 2004, accurately reflect the practices it currently uses to evaluate the potential competition effects of merger proposals.
