Seagate Sues Western Digital Over Trade Secrets

Law360, New York (August 9, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a preemptive strike, hard disk maker Seagate Technology has filed a lawsuit to stop a former employee from sharing trade secrets with rival Western Digital Corp.

The complaint, filed in Minnesota State Court for Hennepin County, seeks an injunction to prevent Pete Goglia from working in certain areas of Western Digital's development of technology used to read and write data on to hard drives. The injunction would last “for a limited time period” to avoid a misappropriation of trade secrets.
