AAI Criticizes Antitrust Claim Reduction Proposals

Law360, New York (February 26, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- An antitrust think tank has urged the Antitrust Modernization Commission to reconsider what it says are “radical” proposals that would substantially reduce the incentives for settlement of antitrust litigation and increase the number and complexity of cases that are tried.

The American Antitrust Institute’s Working Group on Civil Remedies said in comments submitted to the Commission on Feb. 19 that the proposals, if adopted by Congress, could severely impact antitrust litigation.
