PPL, E.ON Settle Energy Suppliers' Merger Worries

Law360, New York (September 16, 2010, 4:47 PM EDT) -- PPL Corp. and E.ON U.S. have reached a settlement with two power suppliers that raised competition concerns with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission over PPL’s planned $7.2 billion acquisition of the U.S. unit of German power giant E.ON AG.

The settlement conditions are tied to conditions of prior transactions and describe terms that restrict cost recovery and outline work on several agreements and projects, PPL and E.ON U.S. said in a filing Wednesday with FERC. They also asked the commission to approve the acquisition by Oct....
