Copylite, Polek Settle Canon's Toner Bottle Patent Suit

Law360 (September 17, 2010, 2:53 PM EDT) -- Canon Inc. has struck a deal with defendants Copylite Product Corp. and Polek & Polek Inc. in a patent infringement suit over toner bottle products used in copiers and multifunction office machines.

Judge Jerome B. Friedman of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia signed off Thursday on stipulations, consent judgments and permanent injunctions between Canon and the two defendants.

Both Polek & Polek and Copylite consented to permanent injunctions barring them from making, selling or importing the accused toner bottle products or any others that fall within the scope of the asserted patents' claims, during the life...
