CME Group Fires Another Salvo In EFF Dispute

Law360, New York (September 17, 2010, 5:44 PM EDT) -- CME Group Inc. has insisted that its ban on exchange of futures for futures transactions does not run afoul of antitrust considerations laid out in the Commodity Exchange Act, and asked the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission to reconsider its conclusion that EFFs are not wash trades.

In a letter posted on the CFTC's Web site, CME Group asked the CFTC to take another look at an Aug. 13 decision in which it concluded that neither the CEA nor commission regulations prohibited EFF trades.
