Mining Group Seeks Halt To Tighter EPA Permit Rules

Law360, New York (September 21, 2010, 2:28 PM EDT) -- Arguing that new federal mining regulations regarding Clean Water Act permits are threatening the coal industry, the National Mining Association has asked a judge to block enforcement of the rules.

The NMA, which sued the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Army Corps of Engineers over the rules in July, filed a motion for a preliminary injunction on Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
