Sears Challenges Dior, Givenchy

Law360 (February 28, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- In one of the first corporate applications before Canada’s competition law tribunal, Sears Canada Inc. has claimed that a decision by Christian Dior and Givenchy to stop supplying their products to Sears will result in a monopoly for rival retailer the Bay.

Sears filed the application to the Competition Tribunal on Feb. 23 against Parfums Christian Dior Canada Inc. and Parfums Givenchy Canada Ltd., both of which are wholly-owned subsidiaries of LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton.
