CFTC To Roll Out First Dodd-Frank Rules Oct. 1

Law360, New York (September 21, 2010, 2:09 PM EDT) -- U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chairman Gary Gensler on Tuesday said the agency would unveil its first new rules, including deadlines for reporting swap trades and rules for derivatives clearinghouses, on Oct. 1.

Up first for the CFTC are new rules establishing time frames for companies and traders to report derivative swap transactions to either a swap depository or the commission and rules regarding the governance of clearinghouses, designated contract markets, swap execution facilities and “systemically important” clearing organizations, Gensler said in a speech to the...
