Highland Tank's Patent Claim Nixed In Rival Spat

Law360, New York (September 22, 2010, 12:40 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has tossed Highland Tank & Manufacturing Co.'s patent infringement claim in its spat accusing rival oil-water separator business PS International Inc. of stealing its trade secrets and encroaching on its intellectual property.

Judge Kim R. Gibson signed off on PSI's motion to dismiss the patent claim in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania on Tuesday, ruling that PSI, which was started by two former Highland employees, had not infringed any of the claims of Highland's U.S Patent Number 4,722,800...
