BackWeb Hits HP, IBM With Suits Over Data Patents

Law360, New York (September 24, 2010, 7:45 PM EDT) -- BackWeb Technologies Ltd. said Friday it had filed separate lawsuits accusing IBM Corp. and Hewlett-Packard Co. of infringing its data transfer technology patents.

The suits, lodged in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, alleged that IBM’s Tivoli Provisioning Manager for Software product and its recently acquired BigFix products infringed four BackWeb patents, and that HP's Client Automation product infringed three BackWeb patents.
