Salazar's Vision Countered With Skepticism At Hearing

Law360, New York (September 27, 2010, 6:40 PM EDT) -- Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar told a presidential commission Monday that he plans to make America's oil exploration industry a model for safety and environmental consciousness, although others at the hearing cast doubt on that vision.

Salazar promised members of the National Commission on the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill and Offshore Drilling that the oil rig explosion, which killed 11 workers and wreaked environmental and economic havoc throughout the Gulf region, had strengthened his determination to reform the U.S. Department of the Interior....
