Chrysler Can’t Dodge $5M Verdict In Fatal Defect Suit

Law360, New York (September 28, 2010, 6:28 PM EDT) -- A Louisiana appeals court has upheld a $5.1 million judgment against the bankrupt remnant of Chrysler LLC in a couple's suit alleging a transmission defect in their Jeep Grand Cherokee caused a 1999 accident that claimed the life of their unborn son.

Louisiana’s Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal handed down a ruling Friday affirming August and Juli Guillot's April 2008 trial court win.
