State Farm's Fire Claim Suit Moves To State Court

Law360, New York (September 28, 2010, 4:44 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has granted State Farm Fire & Casualty Co.'s bid to ship its suit against paint and coatings company Valspar Corp. Inc. over a claim the insurer paid following a house fire to South Dakota state court.

Judge Jeffrey Viken of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of South Dakota agreed with a magistrate judge and partially granted State Farm's motion to remand Friday, though he denied State Farm's motion for costs and expenses.
