Novozymes Loses Bid For Ethanol Enzyme Injunction

Law360, New York (September 28, 2010, 1:56 PM EDT) -- A federal judge in Wisconsin has rejected Novozymes AS' bid for a preliminary injunction barring Danisco AS and three subsidiaries from selling enzyme products used in making fuel ethanol, finding that a substantial question remained as to whether the patent asserted by the plaintiffs was invalid.

Judge Barbara Crabb of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin signed an opinion and order Friday denying Novozymes and Novozymes North America Inc.'s July 22 motion for a preliminary injunction.
