Indian Workers' RICO Claims Reinstated

Law360 (March 2, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- An appeals court has overturned a lower court’s dismissal of part of a lawsuit brought by Indian workers against a recruiting company that allegedly lured them to the United States with the promise of employment.

In the decision on Feb. 26, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit held that, among other things, the allegations that the company engaged in a scheme to convince Indian citizens to travel to the U.S. for work satisfied a pattern of racketeering.
