EEOC Accuses Piggly Wiggly Owner Of Anti-Male Bias

Law360, New York (September 29, 2010, 12:28 PM EDT) -- A black man seeking work as a "sacker, stocker or any position" at a Tennessee Piggly Wiggly supermarket was never considered for a cashier job because the positions were given only to women, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission says in a new complaint.

After the man, identified as Kaleb McClellan, submitted the application in August 2008, a company that owns Piggly Wiggly stores hired at least eight female cashiers, refusing to consider males for such positions, according to the complaint, lodged Tuesday in the U.S....
