Sierra Club Wants In DTE Power Plant Emissions Suit

Law360, New York (September 29, 2010, 5:17 PM EDT) -- The Natural Resources Defense Council and the Sierra Club have asked to join as plaintiffs in the U.S. government’s suit claiming DTE Energy Co. modified a coal-fired power plant in Michigan without a permit and failed to install proper pollution controls.

The environmental groups filed a motion to intervene Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, where the U.S. filed its Clean Air Act case against the energy company Aug. 5.
