Stericycle Buys Medical Waste Co. For $245M

Law360, New York (September 29, 2010, 6:20 PM EDT) -- Medical waste services provider Stericycle Inc. said Wednesday that it had agreed to shell out $245 million to acquire Healthcare Waste Solutions Inc., a portfolio company of health care-focused investment firm Altaris Capital Partners LLC.

Lake Forest, Ill.-based Stericycle said it and its SAMW Acquisition Corp. subsidiary had entered into a merger agreement with HWS on Sept. 24.

Under the terms of the deal, SAMW will be merged into HWS, and HWS will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Stericycle, the company said.
