Health Care Exemptions Survive Senate GOP Onslaught

Law360, New York (September 29, 2010, 6:41 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Senate on Wednesday rejected a bid by Republicans to overturn regulations that exempt certain employer-sponsored health plans from some provisions of the new health care reform law.

In a party-line vote of 59-40, the Senate defeated a motion to begin debate on a resolution of disapproval introduced by Sen. Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., that would have revoked the exemptions.
