Horizon Lines Wins Refund In Spat Over Repair Duties

Law360, New York (October 1, 2010, 12:58 PM EDT) -- Shipping company Horizon Lines LLC is entitled to nearly $100,000 in refunds for errors made by U.S Customs and Border Protection in assessing duties for various expenses incurred by the company at ports in Indonesia and Singapore, a judge has ruled.

Chief Judge Jane A. Restani of the U.S. Court of International Trade signed an order granting the refund — totaling $97,231 plus interest — Thursday, effectively shutting the protracted dispute over duties levied in 2002.
