Bid To Make National Union Defend Benzene Suit Nixed

Law360, Los Angeles (October 1, 2010, 6:17 PM EDT) -- A federal court has rejected a magistrate judge’s finding that it should grant Continental Casualty Co.’s bid for National Union Fire Insurance Co. of Pittsburgh, Pa., to take part in defending Valspar Corp. in suits brought by former employees and others claiming they were injured from benzene exposure.
