Wyo. Gas Drilling Project Gets Green Light

Law360, New York (October 4, 2010, 4:02 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has granted summary judgment to the U.S. Department of the Interior and three natural gas companies in an environmental suit, freeing the companies to go forward with a natural gas drilling project in Wyoming.

The DOI Bureau of Land Management's decision to allow further drilling in the Pinedale Anticline, though unfavorable to local wildlife, does not violate the agency's obligations under national environmental laws, Judge Richard Leon of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ruled Thursday.
