AMD Calls For Probe Of Lost Intel E-mails

Law360 (March 6, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A gross communication failure and lackluster oversight have been blamed for the disappearance of innumerable e-mails Intel Corp. was obligated to produce to rival Advanced Micro Devices Inc. in their long-running antitrust lawsuit.

The company admitted Monday that its preservation system had failed and that it had lost countless e-mails generated since the complaint was filed by AMD in June 2005.

Advising the Delaware federal court of “document retention lapses,” Intel said it regretted the foul-up but was taking extensive steps to address the problem....
