US Seeks To Squash Schemer's Acquittal Plea

Law360, New York (October 5, 2010, 4:00 PM EDT) -- Prosecutors have blasted a convicted securities fraudster's request for acquittal in a case alleging he helped bilk investors of more than $500 million in a hedge fund scheme, saying the jury was right to convict.

Prosecutors told the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida in a motion Monday that Laurence Isaacson's trial plainly demonstrated his participation in the hedge fund scheme and that jurors had ample opportunity to weigh his version of the story before finding him guilty of securities fraud.
