CB Richard Says Workers In China Paid Local Officials

Law360, New York (October 5, 2010, 6:24 PM EDT) -- Global real estate services firm CB Richard Ellis Group Inc. said Tuesday that some of its employees in China may have violated U.S. anti-bribery laws, including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, by buying gifts and covering entertainment expenses for local government officials.

The company made the disclosure in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. CB Richard Ellis said it engaged outside counsel to conduct an internal investigation in the first quarter of 2010 and has implemented “thorough remedial measures.”
