OSHA Fines Lyondell Unit Over Ill. Plant Blast

Law360, New York (October 6, 2010, 12:39 PM EDT) -- Equistar Chemicals LP, a subsidiary of LyondellBasell Industries, has been slapped with $81,900 in total proposed penalties by the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Health and Safety Administration following a March 22 explosion and fire at its Tuscola, Ill., plant.

In connection with the proposed penalties, OSHA on Tuesday cited Equistar for one willful and three serious safety violations stemming from the March 22 incident.
