ITC Takes Up Lexmark's Ink Cartridge Patent Claims

Law360, New York (October 7, 2010, 3:29 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has agreed to investigate claims brought by Lexmark International Inc. that more than 20 companies, including China-based Ninestar Image Co., infringe 21 patents for ink cartridges.

The ITC announced Wednesday that it would begin an investigation into a Section 337 complaint Lexmark filed Aug. 20, the same day it filed a suit against the same defendants in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.
