Taiwanese Court Rules For Jusung In LCD Patent Dispute With Applied Materials

Law360, New York (August 18, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Taiwanese court has cleared South Korean chip equipment maker Jusung Engineering of infringing a patent for liquid crystal display (LCD) technology held by a subsidiary of U.S. rival Applied Materials.

AKT filed a lawsuit against Jusung in late December, alleging that the Korean rival infringed a patent related to chemical vapor deposition. The lawsuit sought to have Jusung barred from importing, using, manufacturing or selling certain flat-panel display manufacturing equipment in Taiwan.
