Bias Suits Rise As Employment Litigation Levels Off

Law360, New York (October 11, 2010, 4:54 PM EDT) -- The total number of new federal employment lawsuits held steady in the third quarter of 2010, but the number of workplace discrimination cases increased, spurred by a dismal job market and a reinvigorated U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Employment litigation stayed on course in the third quarter of 2010, with new filings increasing by a mere 0.55 percent when compared with the same period last year and by 0.8 percent when compared with the second quarter of 2010, according to Law360 research.
