Antitrust Suits Nosedive But Enforcement Lives On

Law360, New York (October 12, 2010, 5:18 PM EDT) -- The number of new federal antitrust filings took a nosedive in the third quarter of 2010, but there's still plenty of work to go around as the government ramps up enforcement.

A Law360 analysis of federal court cases found that 119 antitrust suits were launched in the third quarter — a more than 44 percent drop-off from the same period last year, which saw 214 new cases, and a 9 percent decrease from the previous quarter's 131 new suits.
